The Team
We are a group of Bristol allotment holders who are passionate about our allotments and growing fruit and vegetables. Our services are available to allotment holders who need our help to keep their allotments or just want assistance with the hardwork.
Managing Director's Foreword
When I first saw my allotment, I was amazed. It was another world. The whole place was throbbing with people happily digging, planting and just enjoying themselves. There were children playing in overgrown corners, old folk quietly working away at their plot, people sitting and resting outside their sheds, old men brewing tea on little gas stoves, young couples with barrow-loads of produce, a single mother's group complete with a creche, a group from the local school, and so on.
My family and I soon came to realize that allotments are more than just vegetable plots - they are a way of life. The more we became involved, the more exciting it became. We made friends, we learnt new ways of gardening, we became interested in organic gardening, we had exercise, we cut our food bill and we ate till we burst; it was great!
As if all that was not enough, we soon came to learn that allotments are a haven for wildlife. We all moan and groan about slugs, snails, wood pigeons and other pests, but there is something very special about seeing foxes, badgers, rabbits, mice, slow worms, toads and lizards all red in tooth and claw.
